Architectural Request Form

There are covenants and bylaws that guide what we can and cannot do in the Still Water Place Community Association.  They are not optional.  They are legally enforceable.  The Board is required to ensure that the restrictive covenants are enforced.  We don't want to be a burden, but we do need to make sure all residents are in compliance with the covenants and architectural restrictions that apply.

Any change to the exterior of your home, roofing, decking, plans to fence, etc., require that you receive architectural approval from the Board.  Free-standing sheds are NOT allowed.

The architectural request form you need is available and we are also happy to mail you a copy.  It's not difficult to get permission for most projects.  It actually helps you to benefit from what we've learned about some of the roofers and workman in the area.

Getting a permit from the City does NOT replace the requirement to get architectural permission for the Still Water Place Community Association Board.  We will respond quickly to your request and most requests are approved.

Avoid expensive removal or having to pay to have work re-done because you are not in compliance with the architectural restrictions.  None of us want the expense of court action.

Pond, Trees, Newsletter, Lien Letters, & Mosquitoes

Pond: The light in our pond has been out and we have a company providing estimate who will repair the unit.

Trees: There are a number of dead trees in common areas due to the drought. Still Water does not have irrigation in Common Areas. Dead trees will be removed and, if approved by the board, new trees will be planted at the proper time of year. The board will discuss any potential for irrigation.

A paper newsletter is almost finished and ready for mailing.

Liens: Final notices are going out this week to homeowners who are behind in paying their Association Dues. Liens will be filed in early September and filing charges and fees will be passed on to the appropriate residents.

Mosquitoes: David Fiess of the Allen County Health Department reminded neighborhoods to help reduce the mosquito population and related health issues by:

- Cleaning clogged gutters (mosquitoes only need ¼” of water to breed)

- Cutting high grass

- Drip pans under plants can hold stagnant water

- Old tires should be recycled or stored in your garage because water pools inside and creates a great breeding ground for mosquitoes
